- WHAT IS NCTA?
A fraternal, non-profit organization, the North Carolina Trappers
Association (NCTA) was established in 1972. Its main purpose was and is to unite the
state trappers to help combat the anti-trapping movement, to assist the NC Wildlife
Resources Commission, and to work toward the common goal of preserving and promoting
trapping in NC.
- GOALS OF NCTA?
Along with preserving and promoting responsible trapping, some of NCTA's goals
are:
- establishing reasonable trapping seasons and fair and impartial laws for the harvest of
furbearing animals.
- training trappers in proper trapping methods, safety and woodland skills.
- developing good landowner/trapper relationships.
- the wise use of our natural renewable resources.
- the conservation of our wild animals and the preservation of their natural habitat.

- monthly magazine The Trapper & Predator Caller to inform members of NCTA
developments as well as national news and general trapping tips, stories, etc.
